I’m A Technicolor Cowboy in a Monochrome World
Yesterday I rode my horse
On the silver screen and such
But lately round this nursing home
That doesn’t count for much
Our hoofbeats fade into the past
My faithful horse has died
There’s silence in the ‘golden west’
As my matinees subside
Remember me? My famous phrase?
That every child recalls
ThoseĀ words were etched in history
Just memories of my glory days
Both quick and easy was our ride
Nobody gives a damn
With my faithful companion by my side
For the hero that I am
